Improvements and resolved issues

ID Content Description
CDP-63584 EFP Enhanced the newbusinessflag logic in pc_job_curation in Data Studio. The flag now more accurately distinguishes new business from renewal business. Previously, the flag was based only on the individual transaction type, which could misclassify policies that had been renewed or rewritten. It now considers the policy's full history and reflects its true lifecycle stage:
  • Y – New business: The policy is still in its original term and has not yet been renewed.
  • N – Renewal business: The policy has been renewed at least once.
  • U – Unknown: No completed submission or renewal is available yet (for example, an in-progress transaction).
CDP-63863 EFP Added fields for underwriter user name, underwriter group name, underwriter user name public ID, and underwriter group public ID. Use these fields to filter by specific users and view only data relevant to you.
Changes in Data Studio
Added the fields to the following tables:
  • pc_uwissue_curation
  • pc_activity_efp
  • polperfinal
Changes in Explore
Added the fields to the following models, if they were missing:
  • GW - EfP Activity Workload Processing
  • GW - EfP Underwriting Issues
  • GW - EfP Submission Processing and Conversion
CDP-63863 EFP Added the STP Rate formula to the GW - EfP Submission Processing and Conversion model. This formula calculates the percentage of submissions that go from creation to quote/bind/issue without any manual intervention.
CDP-64425, CDP-65076 EFR Policy Fixed an issue where some policy numbers incorrectly showed as inforce after their policy period expired. This issue affected the Policy Financial Premium Calendar Year and Retention solutions. To fix this issue, updated the following datasets in Data Studio:
  • efr_fact_prem_calendaryear
  • efr_fact_retention
In both datasets, replaced pi.cf_inforcestatus with cf_statuscode in the inforce premium CASE statements.

This fix is supported by another change in the Policy Insurance Data Model. See CDP-64425, CDP-65076 in the Data Platform Content Release Notes: Data Platform Release Notes

CDP-64729 EFR Claims Fixed an issue with duplicate amounts in the Profitability solution. Duplicates occurred because a column with changing values was used in a GROUP BY clause; fk_policyinfo_bkey sometimes changed from null to a valid value. To fix this issue, made the following changes in Data Studio:
  • efr_wrk_profitability_loss_calendaryear: Replaced fk_policyinfo_bkey with fk_policyid_bkey in the GROUP BY clauses.
  • efr_fact_profitability: Changed the FULL OUTER JOIN to a UNION ALL.

CDP-65215

EFR Claims Loss location fields are now sourced from a claim dimension rather than a policy dimension. This change ensures that loss location data is accurate.
Changes in Data Studio
Added the following columns to efr_dim_claim:
  • tn_countryinternal
  • countyinternal
Changes in Explore
Updated GW - Claim Loss Financial - Calendar Year and GW - Claim Loss Financial - ITD models:
  • All loss location columns (city, country, county, state, and zip code) now use efr_dim_claim as the source table rather than efr_dim_region.
  • Removed efr_dim_region from the model joins because it's no longer used.

Improvements and resolved issues

The following content has been updated in release version 2026.03:

  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Policy
  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Billing
ID Content Description
CDP-62948 EFR Policy
Fixed an issue in efr_fact_retention where date calculations didn't account for leap years. Now, retention metrics that belong in February are correctly counted for February.
  • Changed instances of dateadd('year', -1, m.monthenddate) to LAST_DAY(DATEADD('year', -1, m.monthbegindate))
  • Changed instances of dateadd('year', 1, m.monthenddate) to LAST_DAY(DATEADD('year', 1, m.monthbegindate))
CDP-62279, CDP-62950, CDP-63414 EFR Billing

Fixed an issue with the Cash Balancing solution content. Previously, it included some calculated amounts that weren't directly impacted by cash, resulting in an incorrect representation of cash movement.

Changes to efr_fact_cash_balancing in Data Studio
  • Added the cf_commissionspayableamount_cr column because cash impacts it.
  • Removed the cf_collateralreserveamount_cr and cf_suspenseamount_cr columns because cash doesn't directly impact them.
  • Modified the WHERE clause to ensure that it includes all transaction subtypes that impact cash.
Changes to the GW - Cash Balancing model in Explore
  • Removed the cf_collateralreserveamount_cr and cf_suspenseamount_cr columns.
  • Updated the following formulas:
    • Producer Paid Amount
    • Cash Received
    • Cash Paid
  • Removed the Unapplied Ratio formula.
Changes to the Billing Analysis Cash Balancing liveboard in Explore
  • Removed the Unapplied Amount Trend and Collateral Trend charts.
Changes to ab_efr_fact_cash_balancing in Data Studio
  • Removed audits for amounts that aren't directly impacted by cash.

The following content has been updated in release version 2025.10:

  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Policy
  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Claims

This release also includes updates to Data Platform Insurance Data Models. See Data Platform Content Release Notes in the Data Platform Release Notes.

What's new

Explore for Claims Financial Insights for ClaimCenter-only customers

Guidewire can now implement Explore for Claims Financial Insights content for customers that have ClaimCenter without PolicyCenter. Previously, implementations required data from PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter to populate the dimension datasets. Now, for ClaimCenter-only implementations, the dimension datasets only use ClaimCenter data. The PolicyCenter-related dimension columns remain in the schema, but there’s no data:
  • If an attribute doesn’t exist in ClaimCenter, the value is NULL.
  • If a key attribute doesn’t exist in ClaimCenter, the null value is replaced with ?. This prevents issues that can occur with null keys, such as incorrect joins or misrepresented financial data.

New policy aggregate dimension (EFR Policy and Claims)

You can now get streamlined information about policy attributes as of the month-end of the policy term. A new Policy Info dimension replaces the Policy Period dimension in all of the following Explore Financial Insights solution content. Since the new dimension has fewer rows, publication to Explore is more efficient.

Changes in Data Studio
  • A new solution dimension dataset was created in Data Studio: efr_dim_policyinfo. It's derived from a new Insurance Data Model dataset: dd_plcy_policyinfo_trv. For more information about Insurance Data Model update, see New policy aggregate dimension in the Data Platform Content Release Notes: Data Platform Release Notes.
  • efr_dim_policyinfo replaces efr_dim_policyperiod in all of these fact datasets:
    • efr_fact_prem_calendaryear
    • efr_fact_prem_itd
    • efr_fact_loss_calendaryear
    • efr_fact_loss_itd
Changes in Explore
efr_dim_policyinfo replaces efr_dim_policyperiod in all of the Explore models:
  • GW - Policy Financial Premium - Calendar Year
  • GW - Policy Financial Premium ITD
  • GW - Claim Loss Financial - Calendar Year
  • GW - Claim Loss Financial - ITD

Renamed in-force status values (EFR Policy)

In-force status column values are now named active and inactive, rather than in-force, expired, and cancelled. The new values better reflect that fact that a policy is either in force or not.

Changes in Data Studio
Any Explore for Policy Financial Insights solution datasets (efr_) that referenced the cf_statuscode column now use a new column name, cf_inforcestatus. This column now derives the new value names, active and inactive.
Changes in Explore
The GW - Policy Financial Premium - Calendar Year and GW - Policy Financial Premium ITD models have the following changes:
  • The Inforce Status model column uses the new source column name, cf_inforcestatus.
  • Removed the Policy Status column because it’s unused and now the Inforce Status column is more accurate.
The following visualizations in the Policy Premium Analysis liveboard have been updated to use the renamed values:
  • Inforce Premium by Policy Effective Date
  • Inforce Policy Count by Policy Effective Date

Improvements and resolved issues

ID Content Description
CDP-54565 EFR Policy Fixed an issue to more accurately reflect the earned and unearned premium for future-dated transactions:
  • In efr_wrk_prem_earned_agg in Data Studio, updated the join logic to account for fixes in the Insurance Data Model datasets. For those fixes, see CDP-54565 in the Data Platform Content Release Notes: Data Platform Release Notes
N/A EFR Policy Added the Policy Base State column to the GW - Claim Loss Financial - ITD and GW - Policy Premium ITD models. The models already include the State column from the efr_dim_region dimension, but it was sometimes unreliable; If a transaction doesn't link to a policy location it has a region of nokey. You can now choose between Policy Base State and State, depending on your use case.
N/A EFR Policy Simplified the filter expression used in the GW - Policy Premium ITD model to make the query more efficient. Previously it was >= 12/31/9000 < 01/01/9001. Now, it's >= 12/30/9000.
N/A EFR Claims Added the ITD Deductible Recovery column to the GW - Claim Loss Financial - ITD model. This column is useful for lines of business that recover deductible amounts.
N/A EFR Claims Updated the GW - Claim Loss Financial - ITD model in order to ensure change data is excluded:
  • Added the expiration date column from each dimension that contains change data. For the list of columns, see Model: GW - Claim Loss Financial - ITD.
  • Created filters on those columns. The filter expression is >= 12/30/9000.
  • Hid those columns because they aren't useful for reporting. The column property is Hidden = Yes.
N/A EFR Claims Added and removed columns from the GW - Claim Loss Financial - Calendar Year and GW - Claim Loss Financial - ITD models, to support future features:
  • Added to both:
    • Claim Assigned Group Name
    • Claim Assigned Group PublicID
    • Claim Assigned User Name
    • Claim Assigned User PublicID
    • Exposure Assigned Group Name
    • Exposure Assigned Group PublicID
    • Exposure Assigned User Name
    • Exposure Assigned User PublicID
  • Removed from the Calendar Year model:
    • Effective date
    • Exposure assigned user
  • Removed from the ITD model:
    • Assigned User

Improvements and resolved issues

  • Fixed an issue in some Explore models where the Accounting Period formula added additional spaces between the month and year. The formula is now updated in the GW - Claim Loss Financial - Calendar Year and GW - Policy Financial Premium - Calendar Year models. The new formula is:
    if ( strpos ( monthname , ' ' ) > 0 ) then concat ( substr ( monthname , 0 , strpos ( monthname , ' ' ) - 1 ) , ' ' , yearid ) else concat ( monthname , ' ' , yearid )
If you created your own models based on these models, you can update them with the new formula.
  • Added the Policy Base State column to the GW - Claim Loss Financial - Calendar Year and GW - Policy Financial Premium - Calendar Year models. If you created your own models based on these models, you can update them with the new column.
Model column name Description Source table name Source column name
Policy Base State State location where the policy period is based. efr_dim_policyperiod tn_basestate

The models already include the State column from the efr_dim_region dimension, but it was sometimes unreliable; If a transaction doesn't link to a policy location it has a region of nokey. You can now choose between Policy Base State and State, depending on your use case.

  • Updated the YTD Written Premium by Policy State chart in the Policy Premium Analysis Liveboard. It now uses the Policy Base State column instead of the State column. If you created your own Liveboard based on this Liveboard, you can update it with the new column.
