Search and visualize data
When you have a business question about your data, there are multiple ways to search for and visualize the answer in Explore.
When you search your data, the results are automatically visualized as a chart or table. Then you save this visualization as an answer in order to share it with others in your organization. You can also pin the answer to a liveboard, which is an interactive, live dashboard that displays multiple answers.
Use any of the following methods to start visualizing data:
- Search existing liveboards and answers
- Use the search bar to find content created by other users in your organization. If you
want to create something similar to what you find, you can:
- Make a copy of an existing answer or liveboard
- Select on any answer or liveboard, then edit it.
- Explore an existing answer before making a copy
- Select the Explore button on any existing answer in a liveboard. You can edit the parameters and change what you see without saving your changes. Then if you want to save it as an answer, either Make a copy or Pin it to a liveboard.
- Search data to create answers
- Select Search data to manually query your data with the help of search suggestions. Explore automatically creates the type of chart or table that makes the most sense for the data. Then, save the visualization as an answer or pin it to a liveboard.
