Introduction to Explore

Guidewire Explore is a cloud-native, streaming, data analytics and visualization application that enables you to explore data from your Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications in near real time. With Explore, you can analyze your data to discover new insights, visualize and collaborate to improve business effectiveness, and accelerate decision-making. Guidewire Explore uses ThoughtSpot for the underlying data visualization layer. ThoughtSpot is the AI-Powered Analytics platform that empowers users at your organization to ask any data questions in natural language and get accurate answers.

What you can do with Explore

There are multiple ways to discover, create, and analyze information in Explore:

Discover ready-to-use data
Guidewire creates solution content tailored to specific business use cases. A solution includes:
  • Explore models, which optimize data for searching in Explore.
  • Visual reports (Answers) and interactive dashboards (Liveboards) in Explore.
  • Solution datasets in Guidewire Data Studio, which are the source of the Explore content.
To customize solution content, you can extend Explore models. Or you can add your own custom datasets that you create in Guidewire Data Studio.
Some of the solutions that are available in the base configuration of Explore include:
  • Operational insights, such as trending underwriting issues and claim lifecycle analysis
  • Financial insights, such as premium and loss analysis.

Search for existing content
  • Get answers to business questions by searching for relevant visualizations (Answers) and live dashboards (Liveboards).
  • Discover trending Liveboards and Answers generated by your peers.
Visualize and present data
  • Create visualizations by searching your data with the help of search suggestions. Then save them as Answers for others in your organization to view.
  • Create Liveboards, which are interactive, near-real time dashboards that display multiple visualizations.
Analyze and monitor data
  • Add KPIs to your homepage watchlist so that you can always find them quickly.
  • Use Monitor to get alerts about changes in KPIs.
  • Use Spot IQ, a machine learning (ML) tool that mines your data and surface trends, anomalies and outliers with context and visualizations.
