Convert a single worksheet to a model

You can convert worksheets to models before the bulk migration.

About this task

The worksheet creator and editor have been disabled as part of the ongoing transition to models. All worksheets that you or Guidewire created will be migrated to models automatically in the version 10.12.0 release. For new content, you can only create models, not worksheets. If you need to edit one of your existing worksheets before the bulk migration, you can convert it to a model.

Models are the new name for worksheets. Model creation is more visual and intuitive. The interface includes a drag-and-drop builder, a visual diagram of joins, and more intuitive editing. Otherwise, models function exactly like worksheets did.

Procedure

  1. In Explore's top navigation bar, use the workspace selector application switcher button to go to the Data workspace, then select Data objects.
  2. Open the worksheet that you want to convert.
  3. Select More > Convert to Model.
  4. Select Convert and Download TML.
The downloaded TML file is a backup of the worksheet in case you see any issues with the converted model.

Results

The worksheet is now a model, which you can edit. Any dependents, such as Liveboards and Answers, are automatically updated to use the new converted model.
