Matters
A matter is an object that manages information pertaining to a legal proceeding related to a claim, such as a lawsuit.
Similar to claims, exposures, and activities, a matter can be assigned to a group and a user in that group. This user is responsible for managing the matter.
After its initial creation, a matter is considered open. An open matter can be closed
(indicating no further action is expected on the matter). A matter is considered closed
when its CloseDate
is non-null. A closed matter can be reopened. (This
resets CloseDate
to null.)
You can create and manage matters through Cloud API.
