Manual pricing in Advanced Product Designer

Manual pricing in APD enables controlled, user-driven pricing workflows for lines of business that can deviate from standard filed rates. Enabling manual pricing requires supporting generated artifacts and customer-layer configuration updates.

If you enable manual pricing, PolicyCenter generates several entity model and Gosu class artifacts required to support storage and manual processing of manual pricing data. Some of these artifacts rely upon customer-layer content to be manually merged into the code base before manual pricing can be enabled, for example an extension to the RateMethod TTX typelist to include a new entry for Manual Rating.

Do not use manual pricing for lines of business whose rates are filed with a bureau of insurance, and whose rates must not deviate from those filings. Use manual pricing only for lines of business that can deviate from standard filed rates, or for which no standard filed rates exist.
