Manage languages

You can provide translations for a product's textual elements in any supported language.

About this task

If you created a product from a mind map or a template that contains translated text elements, you can make these translations available in Element Details. The language code used in PolicyCenter or other client application must match exactly the language code used in Advanced Product Designer App.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation pane, select the product.
  2. In the upper right corner of the Product Model screen, select ... > Manage Languages.
APD takes a few seconds to fetch values from the LanguageType typelist in PolicyCenter.
  3. In Manage Languages, choose one or more languages from the drop-down list or type a new language code. Click Save.
Values fetched from the PolicyCenter typelist are marked with an asterisk (*). Any values you added in APD also appear.
A language code can contain letters, numbers, and underscores (_). The first character must be a letter.
  4. For each language, in Element Details, under Localization, in Product Name, type the name of the localized product.

Manage currencies

You can make currencies available for an insurance product in APD App.

About this task

In both PolicyCenter and APD App, seven currencies are provided: USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, RUB, and JPY. You can also add custom currencies. The custom currency code used in PolicyCenter or other client application must match exactly the custom currency code used in Advanced Product Designer App.

You select a currency when you add a value of type Money to a drop-down list of clause terms or when you create complex rules referencing the Contract Currency core field. To enable the currencies you want to use in a product, add them to the Available currencies list.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation pane, select the product.
  2. In the upper right corner of the Product Model screen, select ... > Manage Currencies.
APD takes a few seconds to fetch values from the Currency typelist in PolicyCenter.
  3. In Currency Configuration, in Available currencies, choose one or more currencies from the drop-down list or type a new currency code. Click Save.
Values fetched from the PolicyCenter typelist are marked with an asterisk (*). Any values you added in APD also appear.
A currency code can contain letters, numbers, and underscores (_). The first character must be a letter.

Resolve null currency values

Products that are created by importing from a mind map contain null currency values because the mind map does not specify a currency for drop-down items of type Money. If a product contains null currency values, PolicyCenter throws errors when you attempt to synchronize the product with the cloud.

Resolve null currency values in an existing product

About this task

When you lock a product, APD identifies null currency values and provides a way to resolve them.

Procedure
  1. View the product in APD.
  2. Lock the product.
If the product contains null currency values, a red badge appears to the left of the Save button indicating the number of issues identified.
  3. Click the red badge.
  4. In Identified Product Model Issues, in Some product currencies are not configured properly, click Fix issue.
  5. In Fix Product Currency Issues, in Currency, choose a currency from the drop-down list.
