Enable the use of a file name suffix when creating
a new entity or typelist extension.
About this task
A file name suffix allows you to specify different names for multiple extensions to
common entities and typelists. If different projects involve extensions to the same file,
using different names keeps the extensions separate from each other and avoids the need to
merge changes. For example, when registering new lines of business in PolicyCenter, you might
use a different suffix for each extension of the InstalledPolicyLine
typelist. If different teams implement the different policy lines, each can work with a
uniquely named extension file and not worry about conflicts with other teams.
Procedure
-
Navigate to .
-
Set the Show filename suffix on new extension dialog check
box.
What to do next
When you define a new entity or typelist extension, the dialog
