What's new in Data Platform for Palisades

Here are the Palisades release highlights for Guidewire Data Platform. For more details about these features and other changes, see the following:
Note: Included usage limits might apply to the products and capabilities in this release. See Guidewire Cloud Platform Specifications and Limits (located on the Guidewire Community) for more information.

Cloud Data Access

Monitor CDA operational metrics with Datadog (Early Access)

CDA can now send operational metrics to Datadog so you can monitor CDA pipeline health alongside your existing application and infrastructure. This functionality is now available for PPP customers who have signed up for our Early Access program.

You can query metrics such as bytesRead, maxDbToS3LatencyInMsValue, lastSuccessfulWriteTsInMsPerBatch and can use standard Datadog features to build dashboards and alerts. Each metric is tagged with relevant metadata, such as the dataproductID, sourceApplication, batchId to help you slice and correlate performance across environments.

InsuranceSuite database rollback

InsuranceSuite database rollback without CDA bulk upload eliminates time-consuming manual data reloads. You can now initiate self-service rollbacks while maintaining data streaming continuity. The system automatically synchronizes with CDA—pausing connectors and managing sequence numbers—to drastically minimize pipeline downtime during critical recoveries.

New 180-day default retention period for CDA S3 data

Previously, CDA did not enforce a default retention period for files in the CDA S3 bucket; data was retained indefinitely unless you asked Guidewire to configure a custom S3 lifecycle policy. Starting April 1, 2026, CDA applies a default retention period of 180 days to all files in the CDA S3 bucket in your InsuranceSuite AWS account. CDA automatically deletes all files that are older than 180 days.

If you already have a custom S3 lifecycle policy of 180 days or less, CDA continues to honor that existing period, and nothing changes. If you do not have a custom policy, or if your policy is longer than 180 days, the new 180-day maximum now applies.

To prepare for this change, review how you use CDA S3 data and make sure any data you need to keep beyond 180 days is copied into your own longterm storage.

Although 180 days is the default retention period, Guidewire continues to support requests for a shorter retention period when required.

CDA XL tiers moved to Restricted Availability

CDA 1XL, 2XL, and 3XL tiers are now available as part of a Restricted Access (RA) program, in non-production and production environments for PPP customers. These deployment profiles are available only for new CDA deployments. Additionally, they are available only upon request, and not by self-service options.

Customers will now consume Guidewire credits for the XL streaming tiers as part of this program. For more information on pricing, refer to the Go-To-Market (GTM) documents. Contact the Guidewire team to enroll in the RA program and to request an XL tier. For more details, see XL tier.

Data Studio

Access Data Studio from Guidewire Home

You can now open the Data Studio app from Guidewire Home.

When you open Data Studio from Guidewire Home, the Guidewire Home global header replaces the Data Studio header, for a consistent experience across apps. The new functionality includes:
  • App navigation panel to access other Guidewire Cloud apps and tools.
  • Links to Community Support and Guidewire Marketplace.
  • Notifications for Guidewire apps and services. Data Studio doesn't have notifications configured at this time.

View column metadata, including personally identifiable information

For datasets and data tables, you can now see column metadata in a searchable list. The list includes the column name, data type, and whether a column contains personally identifiable information (PII). The PII metadata is new; Data Studio now marks columns as PII if they are marked as PII in the InsuranceSuite data model.

Note: Although Data Studio indicates PII status, it doesn't mask PII columns. This PII metadata feature is in preparation for PII masking and management features in a future release.

To try it, open a dataset or data table, then select Actions > Column details.

Support for geographic data

Data Platform now ingests geographic data from InsuranceSuite and supports querying it in Data Studio. InsuranceSuite databases use a data type called spatialpoint. Data Platform maps it to the geography data type. In Data Studio, you can use spatial functions to query geography data.

With the new data and functions, you can:
  • Create advanced location-based queries
  • Detect fraud based on location data
  • Model catastrophes
  • Optimize routes
  • Perform geographic risk assessment

You can update all relevant tables with geospatial data by requesting re-onboarding of Data Studio. In the meantime, if you update InsuranceSuite with new geospatial columns or new tables with geospatial columns, those will appear in Data Studio as a result of schema evolution.

Data Delivery Monitor

The Guidewire service previously called Data Integrity Service (DIS) is now called Data Delivery Monitor (DDM).
  • All references in the product UI and cloud documentation now use the name Data Delivery Monitor.
  • In Datadog, the service tag and log/metric field names have been updated:
    • The query previously called @service:data-integrity-service is now called @service:data-delivery-monitor to find the logs.
    • The field previously called dataGapCount is now called reconciliationPending.

Data Platform Content

The following content has been updated:

  • Policy Insurance Data Model (IDM): v2026.02
  • Claims Insurance Data Model (IDM): v2026.02
  • Billing Insurance Data Model (IDM): v2026.02
  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Policy: v2.1.0
  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Claims: v2.1.0
  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Claims (Claims only): v2.1.0
  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Billing: v1.0.0

Profitability solution content (EFR Claims)

A new profitability model, liveboard, and answer are available for Explore for Claims Financial Insights. The new content combines loss and earnings data to calculate expense ratios and loss ratios. Use it to monitor trends, identify areas of improvement, and analyze profitability over time.

Retention solution (EFR Policy)

A new retention Explore model and liveboard are available for Explore for Policy Financial Insights. The new content compares policy counts and premium amounts from each accounting month to the same month in the prior year. Use it to visualize policy and premium retention over time. (There is a known issue where retention calculations don't account for leap years.)

Premium transactions audit for all lines of business (Policy IDM)

The Policy Insurance Data Model has a new audit and balancing dataset called ab_plcy_premtrans_alllines_summary. This dataset consolidates all of the existing line-specific premium transaction audits.

Custom financial bucketing (Policy, Claims, and Billing IDM)

Guidewire now provides means to customize certain financial bucketing calculations in the Insurance Data Model so that they match your custom financial requirements.

AP and AR Transactions datasets (EFR Billing)

New fact datasets in Data Studio provide transaction-level views of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions:
  • efr_fact_payable_transaction
  • efr_fact_receivable_transaction
The datasets complement the existing Billing Financial Insights aggregate content; you can use them for detailed research and transaction listings. There are no base-configuration Explore models, liveboards, or answers for these datasets, but you can use them as a starting point to publish to Explore or other external applications.

Billing content is now generally available (Billing IDM, EFR Billing)

The Billing Insurance Data Model and Explore for Billing solution content are now generally available. See Billing Insurance Data Model and Explore for Billing: Financial Insights content.
