Enhanced funds sources

BillingCenter Cloud API provides endpoints for working with enhanced funds sources.

In Enhanced Funds Tracking, an enhanced funds source (also just called a funds source) records how money or credits entered the unapplied fund. Examples include direct bill payments, agency bill payments, ad-hoc credits, negative endorsement credits, and collateral drawdown.

Enhanced funds sources are attached to a producer or an account and linked to one or more unapplied fund slices. Those fund slices track how the funds are later used.

Use enhanced funds source endpoints to retrieve funds source data and understand where unapplied funds came from. Note that the balance created by a funds source might change, but the fund source itself retains the original balance from when it was created.

Endpoints for enhanced funds sources

Use the following endpoints to work with enhanced funds sources:

  • GET /billing/v1/producers/{producerId}/enhanced-funds-sources
  • GET /billing/v1/accounts/{accountId}/enhanced-funds-sources
  • GET /billing/v1/enhanced-funds-sources/{enhancedFundsSourceId}

Example

For example, suppose an account has received money from two transactions: one direct bill payment for $30 and one credit for $15. When you query for the funds sources on the account, three are returned:
  • One direct bill money received transaction for $30
  • One ad hoc credit for $15
  • A "historical" funds source of $0 (For information about historical funds sources, see the Application Guide)

If a transaction has been archived, the response contains the archivedTransactionPublicId field instead of transaction.
