CI Manager

Default tasks configuration in Repository Settings

You can configure your Repository Settings to manage default tasks. By configuring default tasks, you ensure that in Bitbucket additional tasks are added to all the new pull requests that match the defined source and target branches. By default, there are no default tasks configured for your repositories. This configuration is defined on the star system (physical star system) level and, by default, is inherited by each repository. You can create a different custom configuration for each repository in your project.

Redesign for test suites setup in scheduled builds

In the Automated Builds app, the division to premerge and postmerge test suites has been deprecated. When you create a new schedule, you enter the names of suites and with the branch filters you determine on which branches they will be executed.

When you edit an already existing schedule and select Configure next to the builds, you can choose between the following:

  • Pre/Post-merge test suites setup [deprecated]
  • Test suites setup

The same change applies to the CI/CD Manager API. The preMergeSuites and postMergeSuites parameters are deprecated and forbidden to be used for new schedules. Use the testSuites parameter instead.

Advanced Product Designer

Comparing editions

On the Editions tab, you can now select and compare two editions for the same product. The resulting Edition Comparison displays the number of differences between the edition being viewed and the reference edition. You can see how many elements have been added (in green), modified (in blue), or deleted (in red). Comparing editions might be especially useful in identifying editions that have a lot of rules in common and for which differences might be handled with an override.

Common properties for editions

APD now supports common properties for editions, which allow insurers to establish and share a centralized set of product model properties and rules across multiple editions. This feature simplifies edition maintenance by enabling these properties to be managed in one place instead of individually within each edition.
Use common properties if you have a large number of editions, many of which share a set of common properties. For example, the United States can be divided into the following regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West. So you might have the following sets of properties:
  • Northeast Region Properties
  • Southeast Region Properties
  • Midwest Region Properties
  • Southwest Region Properties
  • West Region Properties

If you have one edition for each of the 50 states, you can apply the appropriate common properties to a particular edition. For example, you can apply Northeast Region Properties to the Massachusetts edition.

Using common properties simplifies edition maintenance. Instead of maintaining each edition separately, you maintain the common properties. Common properties can be applied to one or more editions, but a single edition can be associated with only one set of common properties. Common properties do not inherit properties from other common properties, nor do editions inherit properties from other editions.

An edition can have both common properties and edition-specific properties. When you apply common properties to an edition, the common properties do not override the edition-specific properties.

Converting non-APD product lines to APD App product lines

You can now use APD conversion to convert existing non-APD lines of business (LOBs)—such as out-of-the-box PolicyCenter lines (such as Personal Auto or Homeowners) or custom lines—into lines that are managed by Advanced Product Designer (APD). This conversion process works by generating a JSON representation of the LOB that can then be imported into APD. The primary benefit of APD conversion is the ability to leverage Guidewire Cloud to its full potential, which helps reduce cost, increase speed to market, and scale product development.

This service maintains the fidelity of existing product definitions, which means that the conversion has no impact on live policies.
Note: Lines built from a Standards Based Template (SBT) cannot be converted to APD-managed lines at this time.

Guidewire Rules Service

Guidewire Rules Service enables business analysts and rules developers to define and execute business rules and decision logic. It uses the Decision Model and Notation™ (DMN™) standard to support the design of repeatable decisions.

With Guidewire Rules Service, you can create decisions and business rules outside of the core Guidewire applications for faster development and processing. Guidewire Rules Service also makes decision models and business rules available to Guidewire applications such as PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and Workflow Designer, which can invoke these decision models at runtime to evaluate underwriting, policy, and claims data.

With Rules Service, you can enable instant business-driven decisioning:
  • Increase business agility: Empower business teams to make real-time changes to decision logic in a low-code environment using Decision Model and Notation (DMN) framework.

  • Improve operational efficiency: Centralize reusable decision logic to deliver auditable, compliant, and consistent decisions across the insurance lifecycle.

  • Achieve seamless integration: Leverage a cloud-native service that is purpose-built for P&C insurance and that natively integrates with Guidewire applications and data models.

InsuranceSuite Schema Editor

InsuranceSuite Schema Editor is a powerful, no-code application that streamlines the discovery, extension, and management of your InsuranceSuite API extensions and data model. With Schema Editor, you can do the following:
  • Empower developers to discover and extend InsuranceSuite schemas and APIs: Use the intuitive, no-code interface that does not require Gosu coding or Studio development.
  • Accelerate your digital and integration projects: Schema Editor generates the Cloud APIs you need to connect to InsuranceSuite applications so you can discover, catalog, and add API extensions in minutes to support new business initiatives.
  • Ensure enterprise-grade quality: The automatically generated data model and API files maintain the same level of quality, updatability, and reliability as native Guidewire APIs. This reduces technical debt and maintenance overhead.

Guidewire Cloud Platform services

Guidewire Platform services include new features that are focused on maximizing your financial control and administrative efficiency, while fortifying your application security:
  • Platform Usage Dashboard: With the Platform Usage Dashboard, you can monitor, forecast, and optimize your consumption of Guidewire Credits through self-serve reporting. The service is available for Platform Packaging and Pricing (PPP) customers only.

  • Software Supply Chain Security: The Software Supply Chain Security service ensures the security of your InsuranceSuite applications by providing a comprehensive Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and proactively blocking deployments if a compromised software library is detected. It also provides transparent reporting and visibility into your supply chain.
  • SCIM Connect: The SCIM Connect service streamlines access management and user security by enabling real-time, automated synchronization of user deprovisioning between your organization’s identity provider (IdP) and Guidewire Cloud Platform. This synchronization reduces your administrative effort and mitigates the chances of security breaches resulting from unauthorized user access.
