InsuranceSuite package for Japan

Key enhancements in this release include the following.

For more details, see the InsuranceSuite Package for Japan Release Notes.

Automated injury consolidation payment calculation

This update brings an automatic calculation for the psychological damage compensation associated with bodily injury claims. The system now automatically calculates the total compensation amount as soon as the required data (such as approved days, daily amounts, months of pregnancy, cases of stillbirth or miscarriage, and a specific consolation payment) is entered. This feature eliminates the need for manual calculations, which previously involved combining several different factors. It therefore significantly reduces the chance of calculation errors and saves substantial user effort.

It includes the following technical enhancements:

  • New admin tables: Two new administrator tables have been added to store the required parameters for the automatic calculations: CALI Standard Payment and Stillbirth and Miscarriage Consolation Money.

  • Data fields and validation: New and modified display fields have been introduced, along with added validations to ensure data accuracy before calculation.

Automated death consolidation payment calculation

This update brings an automatic calculation of consolation money for death cases associated with bodily injury claims. The system now automatically calculates the total consolation money for death cases. When the required data is entered on the Sekisan main page (Bodily Injury exposure), a new Consolation Money Death popup and the Death General Information section become available. The system instantly displays the calculated values for the victim’s consolation, number of claimants, survivors' consolation, dependents' consolation, and the total CALI (Compulsory Automobile Liability Insurance) amount.

Automated disability consolidation payment calculation

This update brings an automatic calculation of consolation money for disability cases associated with bodily injury claims. The system now automatically calculates the consolation money amount for disability when the required data is entered. The Consolation Money Disability pop-up features new fields, including the following:
  • Disability grade

    Dependents

  • Voluntary Lower Limit

  • Voluntary Upper Limit

The system automatically calculates and populates the upper and lower limits, streamlining the claim process.

Automated disability lost profits calculation

This feature introduces the automatic calculation of lost profit amounts for permanent disability cases, eliminating the need for manual calculation. This change reduces the time spent on calculations and minimizes the potential for human error.

The system now automatically calculates the lost profit amount when all required data for a permanent disability case is entered. This automation is specifically for permanent disability scenarios. Temporary disability cases are not supported by this update.

The Lost Profits Disability pop-up has been updated to include new input fields:
  • Disability Grade

  • Type Number

  • Working Capacity Lost Rate

  • Gender

  • Date of Birth

  • Symptom Fixation Date

  • Symptom Fixation Age

  • Working Capacity Lost Period

Several key values are now automatically determined by the system:
  • Working Capacity Lost Period

  • Annual Income Basis

  • Interim Interest Reduction Factor

  • CALI Amount

Automated death lost profits calculation

This feature significantly reduces manual effort and improves accuracy by automating the calculation of lost profits in Death claims, specifically for the Income basis scenario.

The system now automatically calculates the lost profit amount when all required data for a death case is entered. This functionality is designed for the Income basis income type, which is commonly used by many customers. Pension income calculation is not supported.

The Lost Profits Death pop-up has been updated to include new input fields:
  • Gender

  • Date of Birth

  • Date of Death

  • Job Type

  • Deduction for Cost of Living

Based on the inputs, the system instantly calculates and displays key figures, such as the following:
  • Working Years Left

  • Annual Income Basis

  • Interim Interest Reduction Factor

  • CALI amount
