Data Platform

Here are the Olos release highlights for Guidewire Data Platform. For more details about these features and other changes, see the following:
Note: Included usage limits might apply to the products and capabilities in this release. See Guidewire Cloud Platform Specifications and Limits (located on the Guidewire Community) for more information.

Data Studio

Bulk Actions

You can now perform some actions on multiple objects at once:
  • Create and add tags to datasets
  • Start jobs for datasets or data tables
  • Stop jobs for datasets or data tables
  • Delete queries or datasets
  • Retire published datasets
To try it, select Bulk actions in the left navigation panel.

Data Studio data dictionary

The Data Studio data dictionary is now generally available to all Data Studio customers. Previously, this feature was available only to customers who signed up for the Financial Reporting Early Access program. The data dictionary now describes column-level details, relationships, and SQL queries for all datasets in your Data Studio environment, including:

  • Solution datasets created by Guidewire
  • SODL datsets
  • Custom datasets created by Data Studio users
  • Insurance Data Model datasets

Previously, the dictionary only included Insurance Data Model datasets.

You can now open the dictionary directly in a Data Studio tab, from the left navigation panel.

Navigation improvements

A left navigation panel has replaced the home screen for more seamless navigation. You can access the left navigation from any page and expand or collapse it. It includes the environment selector and all of the action buttons that were on the home screen. The new Utilization button opens the utilization and summary information that used to be on the home screen.

In addition, all pages now open in a new tab. For example, Export Content opens in a new tab so that you can switch back to the Inventory and reference an object you want to export.

Delete publications

You can now delete publications. This helps you:
  • Clean up unused publications and stay within the new limit of 75 publications in a Data Studio environment. (In general, Guidewire recommends grouping multiple datasets into a publication, rather than giving each datasets its own publication.)
  • Delete a publication and recreate a new version with the same name, in order to republish updated datasets.

System Job Metrics page

Job statuses and metrics are now listed in one place, in the new System Job Metrics page. You can sort and filter the list to answer questions such as "Which jobs have the most records?" or "Which job cycles were recently completed?" To find this page, go to the left navigation panel, then select System Metrics.

Data Platform Content

The following content has been updated:

  • Policy Insurance Data Model (IDM): v2025.10
  • Claims Insurance Data Model (IDM): v2025.10
  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Policy: v2
  • Explore Financial Insights (EFR) for Claims: v2

Explore for Claims Financial Insights for ClaimCenter-only customers

Guidewire can now implement Explore for Claims Financial Insights content for customers that have ClaimCenter without PolicyCenter. Previously, implementations required data from PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter to populate the dimension datasets. Now, for ClaimCenter-only implementations, the dimension datasets only use ClaimCenter data. The PolicyCenter-related dimension columns remain in the schema, but there’s no data:
  • If an attribute doesn’t exist in ClaimCenter, the value is NULL.
  • If a key attribute doesn’t exist in ClaimCenter, the null value is replaced with ?. This prevents issues that can occur with null keys, such as incorrect joins or misrepresented financial data.

New policy aggregate dimension (Policy IDM, Policy and Claims EFR)

You can now get streamlined information about policy attributes as of the month-end of the policy term.

Changes to the Policy IDM
Data Platform now generates a new dimension for the Policy Insurance Data Model: dd_plcy_policyinfo_trv. It’s supported by a work dataset that performs intermediate calculations: wrk_plcy_policyinfo_crv.
These datasets work together to aggregate a limited set of data about a policy as of the month-end of the policy’s term. For example, status, base state, and cancellation date. In contrast, the existing Policy Period dimension (dd_plcy_policyperiod_bound_crv) contains many more columns and is at a lower grain; It records every change made to a policy within the term.
Changes to Explore Financial Insights for Policy and Claims
The Policy Info dimension replaces the Policy Period dimension in all of the following Explore Financial Insights solution content. Since the new dimension has fewer rows, publication to Explore is more efficient.
  • A derivative solution dimension dataset was created in Data Studio: efr_dim_policyinfo.
  • efr_dim_policyinfo replaces efr_dim_policyperiod in all of the solution fact datasets:
    • efr_fact_prem_calendaryear
    • efr_fact_prem_itd
    • efr_fact_loss_calendaryear
    • efr_fact_loss_itd
  • efr_dim_policyinfo replaces efr_dim_policyperiod in all of the Explore models:
    • GW - Policy Financial Premium - Calendar Year
    • GW - Policy Financial Premium ITD
    • GW - Claim Loss Financial - Calendar Year
    • GW - Claim Loss Financial - ITD

Renamed in-force status values (Policy IDM, Policy EFR)

In-force status column values are now named active and inactive, rather than in-force, expired, and cancelled. The new values better reflect that fact that a policy is either in force or not.

Changes to the Policy IDM
In the dd_plcy_policyperiod_crv dataset, the calculated column cf_statuscode is now named cf_inforcestatus. The column expression derives the new value names, active and inactive.
Changes to Explore Financial Insights for Policy
Any Explore for Policy Financial Insights solution datasets (efr_) that referenced the cf_statuscode column now use the new column name, cf_inforcestatus.
The GW - Policy Financial Premium - Calendar Year and GW - Policy Financial Premium ITD models have the following changes:
  • The Inforce Status model column uses the new source column name, cf_inforcestatus.
  • Removed the Policy Status column because it’s unused and now the Inforce Status column is more accurate.
The following visualizations in the Policy Premium Analysis liveboard have been updated to use the renamed values:
  • Inforce Premium by Policy Effective Date
  • Inforce Policy Count by Policy Effective Date

Cloud Data Access

New CDA XL tiers for higher streaming throughput (for Early Access customers only)

Guidewire now offers three new extra-large streaming tiers—CDA 1XL, 2XL, and 3XL—for Cloud Data Access (CDA) provisioning. These tiers are now available for PPP customers and for non-production environments (NPEs).

All three tiers stream data continuously in near real time, using an initial bulk load followed by micro-batch jobs (approximately every 90 seconds). These options are ideal for performance and batch testing of large-scale renewal events, major data migrations, or other high-volume operations that exceed the standard CDA Large tier. Contact Guidewire team to enable an XL tier.

Update to CDA medium tier throughput

Guidewire has increased the throughput for CDA medium deployments in non-production environments from 2 million to 3 million CDC records per hour enabling faster data processing for customers.

Update to time taken for initial CDA bulk load

The estimated time to complete an initial bulk load from the InsuranceSuite application database to the S3 bucket has been updated from 20–35 hours to 12–18 hours per 1 TB of data. Actual load times may vary based on database size and record characteristics. For more information, see Time taken for CDA load.
