PolicyCenter

Here are the Niseko release highlights for PolicyCenter. For more details, see the PolicyCenter section of the InsuranceSuite Release Notes.

Support for policy change reversal

PolicyCenter now supports a policy change reversal job. A policy change reversal will reverse all the changes from a previous policy change. You can only reverse the changes on the last bound policy change transaction. All the changes within that specific policy change will be reversed. When the policy is quoted, the Change In Premium amount matches the original Change In Premium for the policy change job, but the sign (-) is reversed.

Note: If you are updating from a previous release, you must make a number of manual changes to your configuration to support policy change reversal.

For a short demonstration of this feature, watch this video:

Seasonal coverage changes on future dated renewals

You can apply seasonal coverage changes from a policy period to future dated renewals on a policy. (This option already exists for policies without seasonal coverages.) Seasonal coverage allows you to apply a seasonal status to a coverable in a Personal line policy so that you can activate certain coverages during high-risk periods and suspend them during off seasons, for a more flexible, cost-effective solution. This new feature allows you to carry forward your seasonal coverage changes to renewals with effective dates in the future.

Note: If you are updating from a previous release, you must make a number of manual changes to your configuration to support this feature.

Policy data purge for archived policy periods

The PolicyCenter batch process for purging policy data no longer requires archived policy periods to be retrieved before they can be purged. Archived policy periods are now purged in the same way as non-archived policy periods.

Workflow automation support with integrated activity handling

Two new activity patterns have been added to PolicyCenter to support workflow automation:

  • autopilot_notification
  • autopilot_action_required

With these new patterns, users can automate the creation and management of assigning activities in PolicyCenter to underwriters, based on predefined rules. If a workflow requires user intervention, the Autopilot Workflow Service creates an activity for the PolicyCenter user. The PolicyCenter user can then review the activity and determine whether to continue the automation workflow or resolve the issue manually. The user's decision is recorded in a new field in the Activity entity (AutopilotHandlingDecision).

Note: If you are updating from a previous release, you must make a number of manual changes to your configuration to support these changes to workflow automation.

Guidewire for Salesforce Financial Services Cloud - PolicyCenter

Salesforce Financial Services Cloud provides Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) with a 360-degree customer view to help them effectively cross-sell products and service accounts. It includes the Insurance Agent Console app, which provides agents and service reps with a consolidated performance summary for their distributors, and the Insurance Agent Portal template, which lets independent insurance agents manage and grow their books of business.

Cloud API enhancements for PolicyCenter

The Cloud API updates for PolicyCenter help users effectively manage policy data, optimize storage, and ensure regulatory compliance. The new endpoints allow users to delete older policy terms, reverse previous transactions, and handle various contact roles with greater ease and flexibility.

New endpoints

The following endpoints have been added to Cloud API:

Job API

  • GET /jobs/{jobId}/async-quote-issues
  • GET /jobs/{jobId}/async-quote-issues/{asyncQuoteIssueId}

Policy API

  • POST /policies/{policyId}/reverse-change

Product Definition API

  • GET /reference-data/term-retention-threshold-configs

Policy Change Reversal endpoint

The Policy API now includes an endpoint that you can use to reverse the latest bound policy change transaction for an active or future term.

Policy Data Purge endpoint

The Product Definition API now includes an endpoint that you can use to view the retention period for your policy data in your database.

Policy Contact Roles support for Cloud Retrofit

As part of Cloud Retrofit within the APD app process, you can now generate endpoints for policy contact role entities that are attached to the policy line. To do this, in the template configuration, define these policy contact role entities as a coverable or as an exposure.

If two policy contact role entities share a child entity and that shared child entity is also a coverable or an exposure, you can now use the following additional configurations:
  • In the template configuration, use the new childTypeName property to provide a unique name for each field.
  • In the codegen configuration, use the new collectionUrlpart property to generate endpoints that share the collection uri part but have different parent uri parts.
