InsuranceNow

Here are the Niseko release highlights for InsuranceNow. For more details, see the InsuranceNow Core Release Notes.

Billing-related moratorium types for a risk address

You can add a billing moratorium based on the risk address. (In previous releases, all billing moratoriums were based solely on the billing address.) This improvement allows more precise control over billing moratoriums. From the Quote/Policy > Moratorium Maintenance list, you now choose the billing address, risk address, or both addresses.

Carrier user access enhancements (for Early Access customers only)

The new carrier access security feature in InsuranceNow (currently in Early Access) allows for enhanced control over how carriers access providers, producers, and customers. This feature enables the isolation of multiple carriers' activities within a single InsuranceNow instance by applying access controls based on user credentials, authority roles, and carrier group restrictions.

Key features include:
  • Segregation of Functions: The operating environment is divided into administrative/management and normal operational functions.
  • Carrier Isolation: Each carrier can only see their own accounts, policies, claims, and billing information, while the parent company can view all carriers' details.
  • Administrative Functions: Only the parent company can perform tasks like running batch jobs, provisioning users, and posting payments.
  • Carrier Group Association: Users, producers, and providers can be associated with specific carrier groups, restricting their access to information within their group.
This feature primarily involves managing the security and access rights of participating carriers, ensuring that search results and access are limited to entities within the same carrier group.

Bean Model Version Upgrade job

The Bean Model Version Upgrade job identifies outdated ModelBean records in a container model, upgrades them to the latest version, and saves the updated records to the database. While ModelBeans are automatically upgraded when accessed, they are not always saved, leaving some data outdated. InsuranceNow releases may include Bean Transforms for seamless upgrades, but these are insufficient for tasks like migration to Data Service or updates to the Reporting Database. In such cases, the

BeanVersionUpgradeProcessor explicitly updates old-form model bean records, supports multi-threaded processing, and offers various operational modes.

Consumer Service Portal usability enhancements

Usability improvements to the Consumer Service Portal include ACH confirmations, support for unverifiable locations for first notice of loss, quicker access to the Service Portal through an installed application, and support for pay plan changes on statement accounts:

  • When making an ACH payment on the Service Portal and using One Inc as the payment vendor, policyholders are now provided a reference number for confirmation of their ACH payment, bringing parity to a solution that provides confirmation number for One Inc Credit Card payments.
  • The Consumer Service Portal allows policyholders to enter a loss location for a first notice of loss without triggering address verification. With this, policyholders can file a first notice of loss for an event that takes place at an unverifiable location to match parity with InsuranceNow core, and carriers can choose whether they want to enforce address verification for first notice of loss.
  • On Chromium-based web browsers, the Consumer Service Portal allows policyholders to create a shortcut application on their mobile devices or computers for easy access through a convenient pop-up.
  • The Consumer Service Portal allows policyholders to update the pay plan and payment method of their statement accounts on their own, without agent assistance.

Hi Marley enhancements

You can now customize the InsuranceNow-to-Hi Marley integration to generate chat case numbers that better meet your needs and improve your operational efficiency, rather than using the numbering system that is preconfigured in the InsuranceNow integration. In addition, case management is improved through multiple operator improvements.
