Search for a specific location

About this task

You can search for claims and policies in a date range and in an area that includes a specific location.

Procedure

  1. At the top left of the main screen, select Point Location.
  2. To specify a start date and end date, do as follows for each:
    • In the date field itself, select a month, day, or year and change the value.
    • Alternatively, select a calendar icon, in which case you can move to a different year by a process that starts by selecting the current year; or you can move to a different month by selecting one or another arrow at the top of the icon.
  3. Start finding a location in either of the following ways:
    • By starting to type the address in the Address text box and then selecting a displayed entry.
    • By typing a geocode such as 36.002304, -78.940317. You in some cases can display the address by adding a blank at the end of the geocode.
  4. Specify a radius in which to discover claims and policies.
  5. Select Go.

What to do next

At the extreme right, you can preview or import a layer; and, if you've captured claims or policies, you can view claim and policy data and view weather history.
