Search by polygon

About this task

You can search for claims and policies in a date range and geographic scope that you specify.

Procedure

  1. At the top left of the main screen, select Polygon Search.
  2. Specify the meaning of the date range and the date range itself.
  3. Select the geographic scope in any of the following ways:
    • To draw a rectangle, select the leftmost drawing tool (Draw Rectangle icon), move to the map, click the left mouse button, and drag.
    • To draw a polygon of arbitrary shape:
      1. Click the middle drawing tool (Draw Polygon icon).
      2. Move to the map.
      3. Double click to create the first location.
      4. Repeatedly do as follows: drag to the next location and click once.
      5. Complete the shape by clicking once at the first location.
    • To display a pre-existing shape at a pre-set location, select the third drawing tool (Show Layer icon). Now displayed is a menu of map layers that are immediately available to you. To display a layer, select it.
To remove a rectangle or polygon that you drew, create a different one or select a different search option.
  4. Select Go.

What to do next

At the extreme right, you can preview or import a layer; and, if you've captured claims or policies, you can view claim and policy data and view weather history.
