When you're working on the main Canvas screen, you can look on the right and select the Map Layers
icon (), which is a toggle that enables you to see or hide a panel where you'll select layers for a given date or date range.
Procedure
Select the icon. The Map Layers panel is displayed or hidden.
On that panel, select the tab of interest.
To show a layer that isn't already available to you:
Ensure that you have a web address that ends with the name of a KML file; for example, by using your browser to copy the address stored in a hyperlink from which you can download a KML file.
Move to the top of the panel and type or paste the web address into the View with URL text box. The layer is now present in your map but has not been saved for future use. You can show additional layers in the same way by repeating the process.
In the current tab, to filter the list of layers that have been saved, type into the View from Saved Layers text box, specifying a string that's included in any part of a layer's name. The filter takes effect as you type.
To display saved layers in your map, move to one or another tab and select the check boxes for every layer of interest. You can use the bottommost controls to update the number of layers listed on the screen and to navigate to another page where layers are listed.
