What's new in InsuranceNow for Qusar

Here are the Qusar release highlights for InsuranceNow. For more details, see the InsuranceNow Core Release Notes.

Accelerate complex claim decisions with Claim Summarization (Early Access)

InsuranceNow now offers Claim Summarization, an AI-powered capability that generates concise, actionable summaries for claims. Available as an Early Access feature in the 2026.2 (Qusar) release, Claim Summarization helps adjusters quickly understand the state of a claim without manually reviewing all associated data and notes.

Claim Summarization is designed to:

  • Speed claim orientation with AI-generated summaries of claim facts, coverage, and note history.
  • Give adjusters and case managers a concise, auditable narrative for every complex InsuranceNow claim.
  • Free claim handlers to focus on decisions and next steps instead of reading pages of notes.

It analyzes structured claim data, including FNOL details, exposures, reserves, payments, coverages, and involved parties, along with unstructured claim notes to produce a structured summary that includes:

  • What Happened: A high-level overview of the facts of loss and key claim events.
  • Summarized Notes: A distilled view of claim notes highlighting the most relevant information.

Summaries are generated on demand from the claim screen and automatically generate when the system detects underlying claim data has changed, prompting adjusters to regenerate for an up-to-date view.

Early Access scope

For this initial release, Claim Summarization is available with the following scope:

  • Supported lines of business: Personal Auto and Homeowners
  • Supported persona: Adjuster
  • Summary level: Claim-level summaries

Enhanced recovery performance management for salvage and subrogation

InsuranceNow now separates salvage and subrogation recoveries into distinct categories for indemnity, expense, and defense. This change updates the Adjust Recoveries, Post Recoveries, and Claim Detail screens so you can record and track each type of recovery separately. As a result, financial reporting and claim analysis now reflect more granular salvage and subrogation amounts, which helps improve accuracy for reserves, recoveries, and downstream reporting.

This granularity also reduces reliance on off-system spreadsheets and manual reconciliations, and makes it easier to see net loss and recovery performance directly in InsuranceNow.

For more information, see the Application Guide.

Keep batch operations on track with enhanced observability

InsurancedNow improved automated batch job observability by adding schedule history that records who uploaded each schedule, what changed between versions (limited to the last 12 updates), and by enhancing job run history to display the job type (standard, special, holiday) and the filter used.

These changes provide richer logging and end-to-end job visibility so teams can spot issues earlier, troubleshoot faster, and keep billing and policy cycles on track without manually babysitting automated jobs.

For more information, see the Application Guide.

Launch GO Workers' Compensation faster with prepackaged policy and billing content

GO Workers’ Compensation now includes preconfigured policy and billing content that helps carriers launch or expand WC lines faster with out-of-the-box product and billing design. These preconfigured templates let carriers capture updated payroll and risk details during and at the end of the policy term and recalculate premium based on actual exposure, reducing configuration effort and implementation risk while helping ensure customers are billed only for the correct adjusted premium.

A new post-audit dividend job and dedicated dividend reporting for GO Workers Compensation give carriers cleaner inputs for downstream processes such as dividend calculations and financial reporting. After the audit is complete, carriers can run the post-audit dividend job at the end of the policy term to evaluate eligibility based on configured criteria (such as low claim frequency or higher-than-expected profit) and determine how much dividend, if any, to credit back to customers, bringing GO Workers Compensation to parity with legacy WC dividend capabilities. This feature also includes a dedicated Looker report for GO Workers Compensation dividend results.

The new Audit and Audit Finalize transactions for GO Workers Compensation support initial, interim, and revised audits and can be configured to generate consolidated audit summaries or invoices. These capabilities also help carriers effectively manage policies for businesses operating across multiple states.

Improve auto risk accuracy with enriched VINterpret vehicle data

InsuranceNow now integrates with ISO’s VINMASTER VINterpret Safety API for Personal Auto, exposing new Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) safety data in the ADASResults section so carriers can enrich auto policies with VINterpret vehicle attributes, including ADAS and symbol data. These deeper, structured vehicle characteristics help sharpen risk segmentation and rating accuracy and can be used to power downstream analytics without adding manual data entry for vehicle details.

Note: ADAS results from the VINMASTER VINterpret Safety API are available only for vehicles with model year 2012 or later.

Guide frontline decisions with context-aware ProNavigator suggestions

Guide frontline teams with context-aware ProNavigator suggestions embedded directly in InsuranceNow policy, billing, and claims screens. The Suggestions tab provides in-flow prompts for likely next questions, procedures, and documents based on the current policy or claim, so users can launch carrier-specific inquiries with a single click instead of starting from a blank search. This reduces handle times by surfacing answers grounded in your own guidelines, FAQs, and procedures, while improving service consistency by steering every user toward the same, governed references and workflows.

New and improved API endpoints

Qusar promotes the following v5 REST endpoints from pre-release to released status, providing you APIs for billing, claim setup, claim contact details, and policy servicing operations.

Endpoint Description
POST /applications/{id}/revertToQuoteRequest

Allows you to revert an in-process application back to a quote. This extends existing InsuranceNow user-interface functionality to external integrations, enabling automated workflows that must switch an application back into quote status without manual UI intervention.

When you send a POST request to /applications/{id}/revertToQuoteRequest for an eligible application (for example, where the application type is Application and the user has the required policy processing permission), InsuranceNow reverts the application to a quote using the same internal sequence as the Revert to Quote action in the user interface.
PUT /providers/{id}/commissions Sets and updates a Producer's commission plan settings.

For more information, see the API Reference.

Deleted claim status for erroneous or duplicate claims

InsuranceNow includes a productized Deleted claim status that lets admins safely remove erroneous or duplicate claims from day-to-day claim search results and lists while preserving the underlying claim for audit and reporting. Claims can only be moved to Deleted status when there are no open reserves, payments, or scheduled payments, and users must provide a reason for deletion, ensuring that cleanup of bad claims is controlled, auditable, and does not disrupt production reporting or workflows.

Note: This task does not physically delete the claim record from the database; it simply sets the claim’s status to Deleted, which removes it from standard searches and lists while keeping it available for audit and history.

  • "Deleted claim status (optional)" in the Application Guide

Consumer Service Portal

Support added for custom text in Delivery Preferences

We added support for configurable custom text in the Delivery Preferences section of the Service Portal. With configurable custom text, you can display organization-specific guidance or disclaimers alongside customers’ delivery options. By communicating important information directly where customers set their delivery preferences, you can improve clarify for end users and reduce confusion and support requests.

This option improves clarity for end users by letting you communicate important information directly where customers set their delivery preferences, reducing confusion and support requests.

To configure custom text, define the customerPreferences.description string in your en.json locale file to specify the text that appears in this area of the page.

Improved ACA portal behavior when changing carriers

For ACA functionality in the Service Portal, we have improved how the portal behaves when an authenticated user attempts to switch carriers by modifying the URL. Previously, if a logged-in portal user tried to change carriers by manually entering a portal URL that includes ?carrier=<different carrier>, they might see an error.

Now:

  • If the specified carrier exists:
    • The user is logged out of the current session.
    • The user is then redirected to the portal for the new carrier, where they can sign in under that carrier.
  • If the specified carrier does not exist:
    • The user is redirected to the dashboard instead of seeing an error.

This change provides a smoother experience for users who move between carriers by adjusting the URL, reducing confusion and avoiding disruptive error messages.
