Producers

Producer is a generic term for a third party who connects people and businesses seeking insurance with insurance companies. Producers often work with multiple insurers and know which one is best for applicant's needs.

There are two data model entities that track the fundamental information for producers: Organization and ProducerCode.

• An organization represents a business entity. Most organizations in an instance of PolicyCenter are producers.
• A producer code is a unique alphanumeric id assigned to a producer. Producer codes are also assigned to policies to identify the producer associated with the policy.
