Role stacking for combined permissions
Role stacking allows users to have the necessary permissions and access rights from multiple roles without creating entirely new roles for each unique combination of responsibilities. This approach is useful when a user’s responsibilities span across various domains, such as underwriting and claims.
Important: Only stack roles if you are trained in the
following best practices to prevent system errors or unexpected behavior.
When you stack roles, follow these best practices:
By following these best practices, InsuranceNow ensures that users have
the appropriate access and permissions needed for their roles while maintaining system
integrity and security.
| Role type | Best practice |
|---|---|
| Non-manager role types | Stack these roles as long as there is no more than one role from each group (such as Underwriting, Claims, Accounting, or Administration). |
| Manager role types | Stack manager role types only with other manager roles. Note: Do not stack manager roles with non-manager roles
to avoid conflicts.
|
| Non-stackable roles | Do not stack the following roles with any other role, due to potential
conflicts and unexpected system behavior:
|
| Roles in same groups | Do not stack roles from the same groups together. For example, do not stack Policy CSR with Policy Underwriter 1. |
