View or change a scenario

Before you begin

Ensure that you are at the Scenario List and have read Overview of Guidewire Compare.
Several options are on the right of each entry:
  • If the Recalculate icon is enabled, you can select it to recalculate the scenario's metric values with data that is newer than is available in the product. However, if a recalculation would interfere with your review of the data or might take too long, ignore the icon.
  • To rename the scenario, select the Rename icon and complete a displayed dialog.
  • To complete other tasks such as delete or duplicate, select the three vertical dots and, when a menu is displayed, select the task of interest.

Procedure

  1. To view or change a scenario, select the name. A scenario-specific screen is displayed, where you can move to the top right, select the three vertical dots, and do any of the following tasks: share, duplicate, rename, export, and delete.
You also can select Add Comparison + and expand the scenario by a process detailed in Create a scenario.
Note: The above-mentioned export option writes the numbers from your results screen. In the output, each row is a metric, and you'll see the filters that were applied to create the output.

As mentioned next, you also can export an individual dataset; and in that case the output is more granular; you'll export all the claims or exposures that constitute the dataset. Each row in the output is a claim or exposure, and you'll see the filters that were applied to create the dataset.

  2. If Recalculate Now is enabled:
    • You can select the button to recalculate the scenario's metric values with data that is newer than is available in the product.
    • Alternatively, you can move to the top of a comparison and click the Recalculate icon and in this way limit the recalculation to that comparison.
  3. Also at the top of a comparison are the following options:
    • Start editing the comparison by selecting the Edit Comparison icon, with subsequent steps as detailed in Create a scenario; or
    • Select the three vertical dots and select a subsequent option. In this way you can export a specific dataset, move the comparison to the left or right in the scenario display, or delete the comparison.
  4. To add or remove sections of metrics, move to the top and select or clear check boxes.
  5. To see definitions of a given metric, move to the right of the metric label and hover over the information icon. For additional details, see Metrics.
