Working with mono-line products

Create a mono-line product

While it is possible to create a single-line product by creating a multi-line product and attaching a single product line, that approach is not recommended because you cannot modify a product line within a multi-line product, only within a mono-line product.

Procedure

  1. Create a new insurance product from a mind map, from a template, or from scratch.
Give the product a name that indicates that it is a mono-line product, for example MyMonoLineProduct1.
  2. If there is no product line:
    1. On the Product Model screen, click Add Child Object > Add Product Line.
The name of the product line appears selected in the navigation pane.
    2. In Element Details, enter the Line Prefix and Line Identifier.
  3. Click Save.

Make changes to a mono-line product

About this task

If you make product model changes to a mono-line product after its product line has been attached to a multi-line product, these changes are propagated to the multi-line product. Changes to rules and editions are not propagated. When you save your changes, multi-line products that reference the product line are updated. You must refresh the browser to see the changes.

Procedure

  1. In the mono-line product, make any necessary changes. For example, add a risk object.
  2. Click Save.
A message appears indicating that multi-line products that reference the product line are updated.
