Overview of policy locations

PolicyCenter uses two data model entities for storing location information: AccountLocation and PolicyLocation.

Policy locations can be added, modified, or removed only in the context of a job. When you add a location to a policy, it is stored as a PolicyLocation and associated with an AccountLocation. While the job is open, changes to a PolicyLocation are mirrored in its associated AccountLocation, and changes to an AccountLocation are mirrored in its associated PolicyLocation. When the job is bound, each PolicyLocation is associated with the resulting policy and can no longer be changed. (Changes to the AccountLocation do not impact the PolicyLocation.)
