Overview of producer codes access

producerCodes is a resource access strategy for external users who are authorized as producers.

Callers using this strategy have a bc_producerCodes custom claim in the JWT. This claim contains a set of producer codes as strings. BillingCenter maps these strings to producer codes in the BillingCenter database, and BillingCenter determines which resources are available to the caller based on these producer codes.

For resources that the producer attempts to access, there must be at least one matching producer code associated with the resource. BillingCenter often determines this relationship based on whether the target resource is related to a policy period or policy periods on which the producer codes earn commission.
